Things around here have been crazy. Last Tuesday, I drove down to Doylestown for a dress fitting. I reunited with friends from England and my Estonian sister Eva and her Mom, Maive. I got to spend some quality time with family friends from England whom are almost like a second set of parents for me. I'm truely blessed and honored to know the people I know from England, and from Estonia. After spending some quality time, I had to scoot out the door to meet Abram for dinner in Exton.
On Wednesday, I hung around the house anxiously awaiting the arrival of my Estonian sister and her Mom. They finally arrived around 9 at night and stayed for dinner and dessert and headed out. They were suppose to stay the night, but Eva is more of a night person than a morning person. If she stayed the night, she would have had to be awake and on the road no later than 7 in the morning. So her Mom and her drove home early. The next day, Abram and I headed to Doylestown.
I drove Shelly and Jean friends from England around to different stores. Some were errands to help my parents out and some were just fun shopping. I managed to get myself a cute little reception dress, necklace and earrings, and shoes to match at JC Pennys for 20% off the sales sign. That evening I went to a cooking class, although it was more like a cooking show than a cooking class. It was still fun and nice.
Then on Friday, the matron of honor Kelly, my sister and I headed to the mall to help me find sandles. My Mom had picked up sandles for me, but they were way too big. I found a pair of cute white sandles with a little bit of heel to help with how short I was. After finding shoes, we drove home. I headed to the nail salon with the friends from England and took plenty of pictures. The wedding party and family friends were at the salon getting their nails done. I had my fingers and toe nails done. After getting our nails done it was time to change for the rehersal and rehersal dinner.
The pastor arrived to go over the events for the next day and the coordinator (chef's wife) came to help orchestrate what my Dad had planned for the past several months in advanced. The classical moment was our dog Molly whom went number two and then after laughter tried pushing it away from the tent and covering as if she was ashamed and embarrased. Then it was over to a cute italian restaurant. It was a beautiful rehersal dinner with a lovely slideshow presentation created by the grooms family. Then it was back home. My sister and I stayed in the Master bedroom upstairs which was prepped earlier that day for our night upstairs.
At 3 am, I awoke and headed downstairs. My Dad and Mom awoke around 4 am and Abram at 4;30 am. Abram ran around with last minute errands that my Dad had requested earlier on. My Mom, Dad, and I ran around with some surpise things for my sister and Dan, and decorations. Friends from England also got up and assisted with preparations. At 8 am, the lady whom did my hair came over to the house and began to do all the bridesmaids, bride's hair. There was enough time so we had her do the flower girl's hair. Dan has some really adorable cousins. The youngest flower girl was all smiles and excited about going down the aisle. At the end of the wedding when my sister was unwrapping wedding presents, she said "Let's do this again." I guess the concept of weddings are a once in a lifetime event hasn't quite hit the mark yet. It was adorable!!!
After getting dressed we headed toward the backyard for the start of the ceremony. Tuck my sister's bird even played a part. Tuck hates Dan. A sidenote, birds choose one person or bird and they mate with that one individual. A lot of times parrots because they are kept individually will pick a human and will "mate" with that one individual. I guess it realized Dan was stealing the spot light. The bird lover wasn't in love with this bird. Infact, the night before the wedding, Dan was standing infront of Tuck's cage taunting him with showing off the wedding bands. So my parents made a tape recording of Tuck saying "No No Tuck, Not Dan!" This was played when the pastor mentioned about whether the guests would give their support to their wedding. A friend from Canada revealed that they really thought it was the parrot. No our parrot doesn't talk, but if he did, I think there would be alot more said.
We had pictures down in the woods. We then headed up to the front for the reception. Joyce, Dan's sister, sang "My Valentine" and dedicated it to my sister and Dan. My parents had a song dedicated to them because it was their wedding anniversary. It was a beautiful reception. For those who are curious there was both vegetarian and meat options for everyone. Melissa of course had they vegetarian dish! Then we headed out for more pictures downtown with the photographer.
My sister and Dan headed out in their car which was decorated by Eva and I. Eva grabbed the mustard and I grabbed soap and toilet paper to deocrate the car. I wrote chickadee one and chickadee two on the windows. Eva wrote with mustard "Just Married". Abram informed us later that he thought that the mustard if it wasn't cleaned within the next day would become a permanent decoration to my new brother-in law's car. OOps!!! HOpe they went and cleaned the car on their way down to North Carolina.
The next day, Eva and Maive left to New York. The friends from England, my parents, and Abram and I headed to New Hope for some food and shopping. After we got home we just relaxed since everybody was tired and hot. The next day Abram headed in for a conference. I spent time with family and friends. I even got to spend some quality time with friends from Canada whom had attended the wedding. They came for breakfast. Then we headed to the camera shop and to a natural wildlife reserve where we went bird and nature watching. Then we met Abram for a nice chinese dinner.
Abram and I had to head home. All in all we had a blast. A big congradulations and blessings go to my sister and her husband Dan. Dan- We both are glad that my sister found you. Your an awesome guy and you complete her.
