February and March

What a winter it has been! We are certainly ready for Spring here in the Valentine-Campbell house.

Colin: He is making lots of strides with potty training. As of the 25th of March we are in full underwear with a great start of no messes. He is coming around with his phonemic awareness and letter identification. He counts independently to 20 and identifies 1-10 with the 9 and 8 at times being switched.  His teachers say his language and vocabulary are high for his age. Considering he has actually self corrected a sentence to make the verb match the noun and tense of the sentence. He identifies roads in our area by name and can give directions to home, mall, Nana's and Panera breads. All different areas. Abram says it scary but Laura feels it's good for him to know his surroundings. He knows his address. The thing Laura feels he needs to work more on is being cautious and not to trusting of strangers. It depresses Laura that this is something she feels she has to instill some fear and is reluctant to start but also thinking she must. Why do bad people have to exist?!!!

Abram-  He just finished the winter session at Drexel. A lot of hard work and studying. He is now on his short break. Then 10 more weeks of classes and summer. By next Spring he will have graduated with his masters degree. Can't believe he is getting close to the finish.

Laura-   She is back to work. Had to do four days of unpaid FMLA time due to a strep throat infection. Work has kept her busy.  But with neb treatments throughout the work day doing well. Hoping to get off the neb so that in five weeks we can start allergy shots to ward off a problem like this winter. We discovered that the allergy list has grown to pretty much everything. So fun fun!  Hoping the allergy shots help.

We are looking forward to warmer weather and no more viral bugs.
