August came and went as time often does. It was a month of suprises. I began the month with a determination to have my room ready and set up in the new building and be ready to greet the students to the new building at Lincoln. The suprise I had was that on Wednesday of the first week back for Teachers at a special ed workshop I ended up having to leave due to contractions and spent an hour at my doctors office and 3-4 hours at the Reading Hospital with the realization that I would not be able to start the year as I had hoped or had originally planned. But the need to be on bed rest was what the baby needed. I owe a special friend at school for all their support throughout this time.
The second suprise was planned and arranged by family members. A beautiful baby shower filled with close friends and family. I finally got most of the cards into the mail. Having time at home on bed rest has given me time that wasn't there before. I just had to talk full advantage of that aspect. This happened prior to the unplanned bed rest.
September arrived and it feels like it is moving slower than molasses. Probably all the excitement and anticipation of the baby's arrival. I saw another picture of the baby on the sonogram and we were grateful to hear that the low average birth rate has disappeared and that it is in the 25th percentile for size and weight is 6 pounds. He / She has been growing over the past several weeks. So now it is the waiting game.
