Christmas 2007

The year 2007 is coming sooner than one would hope. I feel like the 2007-2008 school year is brushing by like the wind. It's there one second and gone the next. It feels like it should only be October, but it's not. Christmas is almost upon us and about ready to pass. I love the Christmas holiday. I love shopping for that perfect gift for somebody. I love watching the christmas decorations out on the lawns. I love putting up a Christmas Tree as a family and remembering the significiance of each individual decoration.
I also enjoy listening to the imagination of children as they picture and anticipate the day of "Santa's" arrival. This year, my husband and I have not managed to get our Christmas tree up in a timely fashion. It's still boxed and in our basement. We got our first and hopefully not the last Christmas photo postcard. We are working on our newsletter to go out. We have been busy. Last weekend, I helped my sister move out of her apartment complex. She is moving back to PA.
She completed the nursing program with honors. I wish her good luck and pray that she finds the right job to meet her needs. She has several interviews lined up. She is also preparing to marry a wonderful man named Dan. I look forward to having him join our family. I think they are truely a match made in heaven.
This week, I am rushing to get the last second gifts for my students. I got each of my students families a sign language dictionary. I hope that it helps them with finding the right word to communicate with their child. For most of my parents they are in a continued learning phase of how to communicate with their child. They have a challenge that goes beyond the normal spectrum of parenting. I am their resource on how best to work with their child. It is a challenge, but a rewarding experience that God has bestowed on me.
My family has grown from a two person family to: husband, hamster, fish, and a cat whose part ferril. This last weekend of being locked up due to a move has calmed her down. I'm hoping we found the trick to cure the feistiness that comes with the ferril cat inside her. We got the kitten off an Amish farm in Lancaster. And we will soon be bringing in another kitten to house. This one we will not be getting from an Amish farm. Pray for us that this one shows a bit more indoor and family warmth than our first. Don't get me wrong. We love the ferril one, but she does need to calm down.
My hand looks like someone took a razor to it. It's starting to look better, but it has looked like that for weeks. Well I wish and pray for peace during the Christmas Holidays and Happy New Years.
